NEET PG 2026: The registration process for NEET PG has commenced. Candidates can apply until July 21. NBEMS has advised all candidates to carefully read the NEET PG 2026 information bulletin before applying to avoid errors during the application process. Candidates can review the key changes introduced this time below before applying.
**Exam city will not be allotted on a 'first-come, first-served' basis**
The board has clarified that the allocation of the exam state, exam city, or exam center will not be based on a 'first-come, first-served' principle. This means that applying early will not provide any added advantage in securing a preferred exam center or city.
**How many exam states must be selected in the application?**
Candidates must provide options for three exam states while applying.
The first choice must be the state corresponding to the candidate's registered correspondence address.
The remaining two choices must be neighboring states.
NBEMS stated that the correspondence address must be verified by a valid document. Once the application is submitted, neither the correspondence address nor the exam state preferences can be changed. This modification will not be possible even during the 'edit window'.
**Where will the exam center be allotted? ****
The board stated that while efforts will be made to allot exam centers based on candidate preferences, centers could be allocated anywhere in the country due to administrative, security, technical, or other necessary reasons.
**What points should be kept in mind while uploading photos and documents?**
Candidates must upload a photograph (not older than three months), signature, and other required documents along with the application, strictly adhering to the prescribed guidelines.
If the photograph or other images are found to be blurred, edited, morphed, or not in compliance with the prescribed standards, the application may be rejected, or the admit card may not be issued.
**Which details cannot be modified after submitting the application?**
NBEMS has clarified that once the application is finally submitted, changes to the following details will not be permitted:
Category / PwBD status
Date of birth
Mobile number
Email ID
Other personal details
The Board also stated that the information provided in the application will be used during the counseling and admission processes.
Aadhaar-based verification will be mandatory.
For the first time, an Aadhaar-based authentication and verification system has been implemented for NEET PG 2026. Candidates must provide their Aadhaar number in the application where required. Candidates must ensure their Aadhaar is unlocked before arriving at the exam center to avoid any issues during verification.
If Aadhaar verification is not possible, alternative methods such as iris-based identity verification may be used.
What to keep in mind on the day of the exam?
NBEMS has advised candidates to arrive at the exam center well before the scheduled reporting time so that identity checks, biometric verification, and security screenings can be completed on time.
Candidates are advised not to apply henna (mehndi), color, ink, paint, or any other substance to their fingers, palms, or hands, as this could interfere with biometric verification.
Additionally, candidates should not plan any inflexible travel itineraries for the exam day, as security and verification procedures may take extra time.
Keep email and mobile active.
The Board has stated that all important information regarding the exam and counseling will be communicated via the registered email ID and the official website, as well as the official WhatsApp channel. Candidates should regularly check their email, including spam and junk folders, and ensure their mailbox is not full.
Do not share your information with anyone
NBEMS has warned candidates not to share their application number, password, Aadhaar details, mobile number, email ID, or any exam-related information with unauthorized persons. The Board noted that fraudsters could misuse such information by making false promises regarding increasing marks, securing admission, or other claims.
What happens in case of fraud? NBEMS has clarified that if a candidate is found involved in impersonation, the use of unfair means, or any form of malpractice during the examination, their candidature may be cancelled. Furthermore, they could be debarred from future examinations and face legal action.
The Board has urged candidates not to rely on rumors or unofficial information circulating on social media, but to trust only the information released through the official NBEMS website, registered email, and authorized communication channels.
**Proof of correspondence address required**
During the application process, candidates must submit one of the prescribed documents as proof of their correspondence address. This document will be a mandatory part of the application process.
**What will be the number of questions in NEET PG?**
According to the information bulletin, the NBE has reduced the number of questions in the NEET PG examination from 200 to 180. Previously, the NEET PG question paper consisted of 200 multiple-choice questions. The examination will be conducted nationwide in a single shift on August 30, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
