Tea contains compounds such as tannins and polyphenols. These compounds can interfere with the absorption of iron from food. Therefore, frequent tea drinkers immediately after meals may increase the risk of developing iron deficiency over time. Especially women and persons at risk of anemia should be more careful about this.
Some individuals may experience indigestion, bloating, gas, or heaviness if consumed immediately after a meal. Although every person’s digestive system is different, it is necessary to change this habit if you experience such health problems frequently.
The caffeine in tea can exacerbate acidity problems in some people. Consuming the tea immediately after a particularly spicy or heavy meal can cause heartburn, belching or discomfort.
