The auto sector witnessed a series of launches and updates this week across different segments. From Kia's new Seltos variants and Tata's electric Sierra to Hero's upgraded Passion Plus, here is a roundup of the biggest announcements.
Kia has expanded the Seltos lineup with the launch of the GTX(O) and X-Line(O) variants. Starting at ₹21.56 lakh (ex-showroom), the latest additions bring enhanced safety, technology and convenience features to the company's mid-size SUV. Built on the Seltos' 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, the new variants introduce Kia's ADAS F+ suite with 28 advanced safety features.
Tata Sierra.ev
Tata has unveiled the all-electric Sierra, bringing back one of its most iconic SUV models. The Sierra.ev is priced from ₹18.79 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in five variants. Bookings began on June 30, while deliveries to customers are scheduled to start from July 15. The electric SUV comes with two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack options, 63 kWh and 75 kWh.
Skoda Kodiaq RS
Skoda has launched the Kodiaq RS in India at a price of ₹66.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Imported as a completely built unit (CBU), the performance-focused SUV is limited to just 50 units, all of which were booked within six minutes of bookings opening on June 22. Positioned above the Kodiaq L&K, the Kodiaq RS marks the debut of Skoda's RS badge on an SUV in the Indian market. Powering the Kodiaq RS is a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that delivers 261 bhp and 400 Nm of torque.
Renault Kwid Facelift
Renault introduced the refreshed Kwid facelift in India on July 3, giving its entry-level hatchback a mid-life update. Although Renault has not officially disclosed the details, recent spy images indicate the facelift will feature subtle styling updates instead of a major redesign. The mechanical setup is expected to remain unchanged. The updated Kwid is likely to continue with the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 65 bhp and 96 Nm of torque.
Hero Passion Plus
Hero MotoCorp has expanded the Passion Plus range with the launch of a new front disc brake variant. Priced at ₹84,128 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Passion Plus Disc adds enhanced performance along with several feature upgrades. The biggest change is the addition of a front disc brake, replacing the drum brake offered on the standard model.
Vespa Edizione Ottantesimo
Vespa has introduced the Edizione Ottantesimo, a limited-edition scooter celebrating the brand's 80th anniversary. Based on the Vespa GTS 310, the special model was unveiled in Rome during the "80 Years of an Icon" celebrations. The scooter will be limited to just 1,946 units, a tribute to 1946, the year Vespa began production. The Edizione Ottantesimo features a raw steel-inspired finish, departing from Vespa's signature vibrant colours.
