Satluj: Diljit Dosanjh's film 'Sutlej' has once again come into discussion after its release. This time the reason is not the story of the film, but its sudden disappearance from the OTT platform. Within about 48 hours of its release, the film was not available to the audience on the platform, after which various types of discussions started on social media. Many people raised questions as to why the film was removed so soon.

Amidst these speculations, Diljit Dosanjh himself has shared his reaction on this entire matter. The actor has shared a story on Instagram and told what is the whole matter. Let us know in this article what is the reason for withdrawal of Satluj?

Why was the film removed from OTT?

Diljit Dosanjh's film 'Sutlej' was released directly on OTT without any promotion, interview or marketing campaign. But the film was removed from the platform just 48 hours after its release. On July 5, ZEE5 issued a statement stating that due to some new developments, the film will not be made available in India until further notice. However, the real reason for removing the film has not been made clear yet. Neither CBFC nor the producers of the film have given any official statement on this.

Diljit Dosanjh did not say this

Diljit Dosanjh has given his reaction on this entire matter. During Instagram Live, he said that the film team already knew that this could happen. That's why he did not promote the film much. Diljit told that he was afraid that if there was more discussion than before, then perhaps the film would not be released. He also said that he had already asked the fans to download and watch the film, because he felt that it could be removed at any time.

Even after the film was removed, Diljit said, "You can harass me as much as you want, I am with Punjab till my last breath." He expressed happiness that the film reached the people and appealed to those who have downloaded it to share it further.

Why was there controversy regarding the film?

Actually, 'Sutlej' is based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalda. He had investigated the cases of alleged fake encounters and illegal funerals in Punjab. He was kidnapped and murdered in the year 1995. The film is made on this sensitive subject, hence it remained in controversies from the beginning. According to reports, CBFC had talked about making more than 20 cuts in the film. Director Honey Trehan said that making so many changes would change the basic story of the film.
