Aurelien Tchouameni is reportedly open to a move from Real Madrid to Manchester United under one specific condition, with INEOS prepared to table a huge financial offer to make the deal happen.
Manchester United are set to complete the signing of Ederson as their first midfield addition of the summer, pending the successful completion of the second part of his medical in England.
The Red Devils are determined to strengthen further in midfield, especially after Casemiro’s departure to Inter Miami on a free transfer and Manuel Ugarte’s long-term absence following an ACL injury sustained during the World Cup.
Having missed out on Elliot Anderson, Mateus Fernandes, and Sandro Tonali, United have now turned their attention to Alex Scott from Bournemouth and Aurelien Tchouameni of Real Madrid.
While both signings were initially seen as challenging, transfer reporter Dean Jones has provided an encouraging update suggesting that a move for Tchouameni could indeed materialise.
Writing for FlashScore, Jones stated that Tchouameni is aware of Manchester United’s interest and that the club has already made approaches to his representatives.
According to Jones, the French midfielder appreciates the attention and would be willing to join Manchester United this summer if Real Madrid inform him that he is no longer part of their plans at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Although such a decision from Real Madrid might seem unlikely, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Los Blancos must sanction several major departures before making additional changes to Jose Mourinho’s squad.
Following the arrivals of Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate, Marc Cucurella, and Bernardo Silva, Real Madrid’s squad has become bloated, creating the possibility of significant exits.
Consequently, Jones has revealed that Real Madrid are now open to the idea of selling the 26-year-old midfielder.
This development will be welcomed by Manchester United and INEOS, who view Tchouameni as the ideal long-term replacement for Casemiro.
In addition, a recent report from Mundo Deportivo indicated that Manchester United are prepared to spend more than the £85 million they had previously allocated for Mateus Fernandes.
The report claimed that the Red Devils are ready to offer over €100 million (approximately £85 million) to secure the signing of the French international they are so eager to bring in.
Mundo Deportivo further suggested that such a substantial offer from Manchester United could persuade Real Madrid to approve the sale.
Jones concluded by noting that Manchester United are expected to intensify negotiations, both with Tchouameni’s camp and with Real Madrid, to move the transfer forward.
However, the journalist added that the midfielder will not make a final decision until after his World Cup campaign with France concludes.
Les Bleus have progressed to the quarter-finals, where they are set to face Morocco on Thursday night.
