Ajay Devgn Dhamaal 4: The fourth installment of famous director Indra Kumar's superhit comedy franchise 'Dhamaal' 'Dhamaal 4' has hit the theatres. This film starring stars like Ajay Devgan, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Javed Jaffrey claims to make the audience laugh, but after coming out of the theaters, one thing becomes clear that this film could have become a big blockbuster, if its makers had sweated a little more on certain aspects.

Actually, the film has a touch of comedy, the stars have amazing tuning and some scenes force you to burst out laughing. But in today's time when the audience has become very choosy about cinema, it is difficult to sail only on nostalgia. If the makers had focused a little more on these 5 big fronts, 'Dhamal 4' could have broken all the box office records.

1. Lack of new story (outdated plot)

The biggest USP of the 'Dhamaal' franchise has been the blind race for money and the characters running like crazy. But even for the fourth time, taking the story forward in almost the same manner made the audience a little irritated. While watching the film, at many places one gets the feeling that we have seen all this before. If the makers had added some completely new and surprising elements in the backdrop of the story this time like Welcome to the Jungle, then the fun of the film would have doubled.

2. Less use of Ajay Devgan's stardom

Ajay Devgan He is one of the biggest mass heroes of today's times. His screen presence alone is enough to get whistles blowing in the theatre. Although his style in 'Dhamal 4' is funny, his character was not written in a way that could fully capitalize on his stardom. Ajay could have been given some more powerful dialogues and situational comedy scenes, which would have hit a six straight on the front foot.

3. WhatsApp and clichéd punchlines

There was a time when people used to laugh at loud comedy and strange facial expressions. But now the audience is living in the era of social media and memes. Some punchlines and jokes of 'Dhamal 4' seem as if they have been lifted from WhatsApp forwards. In today's time, the audience likes fresh and situational comedy more. A little more work on the dialogues would have made the film more crisp.

4. Weak screenplay and slow second half

The beginning of the film is quite explosive. The entry of the characters and the first few moments keep you engaged, but by the second half the screenplay starts becoming a little loose. It seems that the makers are forcefully dragging the story so that it can reach the climax. If the editing of the film had been a little tighter and the screenplay had been kept tight, the audience would not have been bored even for a second.

5. Laxity of VFX and technical team

Visuals play a big role in today's big films. There are some scenes in 'Dhamal 4' where heavy computer graphics (VFX) have been used, especially in some adventure and chase scenes. But sadly, these VFX look quite fake and childish on screen. When you are making such a big budget film with a big star like Ajay Devgan, then such laxity on the technical front is irritating.

It is not that 'Dhamal 4' is a bad film. The trio of Ritesh, Arshad and Javed still brings a smile on the face whenever they appear on screen. This is a perfect time-pass entertainer to have a laugh with the family on weekends. But the only regret will be that if a little more work had been done, this film could have been included in the list of the biggest blockbuster films of the year and not just an 'average hit'.
