According to recent reports, former Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has made a decision regarding his future, with a deal reportedly already in place as he prepares to leave Europe.

The Egyptian forward’s future has been the subject of much speculation since it was confirmed that he would be departing Liverpool this summer on a free transfer.

Once regarded as one of the Premier League’s top performers during the 2024/25 season, Salah endured a disappointing 2025/26 campaign, slipping down the pecking order at Anfield.

During the season, Salah reportedly clashed with then Liverpool manager Arne Slot, as his playing time became limited. However, this reduction in minutes was viewed as justified due to his declining influence on matches.

Despite his club struggles, Salah impressed at the World Cup and remains a highly sought-after player as he considers his next move ahead of the new season.

Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad have previously attempted to sign Salah without success, while other teams from the Middle East are also competing to secure his signature.

There have also been discussions linking Salah with a possible move to Major League Soccer (MLS), with clubs such as Atletico Madrid and Roma reportedly showing interest as well.

However, as per a report from TEAMtalk, Salah has now ‘made a decision’ regarding staying in Europe, with that option becoming ‘increasingly unlikely’.

The report further indicates that the ‘expectation’ is for Salah to move either to the Saudi Pro League or to the United States.

It is understood that Salah is ‘closing in’ on finalising his next move, with MLS clubs Inter Miami and San Diego FC emerging as possible destinations.

Nevertheless, a switch to the Saudi Pro League currently appears to be the most advanced option.

The report elaborated: ‘The Saudi Pro League has spent years planning for Salah’s arrival, viewing him as the ideal ambassador to further elevate the league’s international standing. TEAMtalk understands that a deal in principle is already in place with the league, although Salah has yet to decide which club he will join.’

Additionally, it is noted that geographical factors are influencing Salah’s decision, as he is believed to prefer clubs located in the western part of Saudi Arabia due to their proximity to his homeland. However, all options reportedly remain open.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are still searching for a replacement for Salah following news that their primary target, Yan Diomande, is leaning towards joining Paris Saint-Germain.
