At present the discussion regarding the delimitation bill is intense. Senior leader Sharad Pawar's daughter and Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule had said that if the government agrees in writing to increase the seats by 50 percent, then she will consider supporting the bill. Now the news is that the government's attitude seems positive on the condition of Supriya Sule. According to sources, the government is ready to increase seats by 50%. There is news that the government can bring a provision of 50% in the proposal and the government is also ready to discuss various options for delimitation with the opposition parties.

Earlier, Supriya Sule along with other opposition party members had met Union Minister Amit Shah. Supriya Sule said that along with her, Lok Sabha MP and group leader Arvind Sawant and Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi were called for a meeting in Delhi, in which BJP MP and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju informed them about the bill. He told that instead of increasing the seats on the basis of population, Amit Shah has proposed to increase the existing Lok Sabha seats of the respective states by 50 percent.

'It will be injustice to the southern states'

He said that in the meeting, Amit Shah told that he had held separate meetings with Congress, Samajwadi Party and DMK regarding the Delimitation Bill, in which different views came forward. He further said that we are against increasing the number of seats on the basis of population of the states, because it will be unfair to the southern states. The final decision to support the Delimitation Bill will be taken after discussion with the members of the Bharat Alliance.

'We are not against the bill'

Supriya Sule further said that we should also get the written copy of the Delimitation Bill, only then we will be able to take an official stand. We are not against any bill, because we are policy makers, but such policies should be fair and acceptable to all. He has said, 'Until we receive a written copy of the Delimitation Bill with the exact formula for increasing the number of Lok Sabha seats, we will not give any official comment on it.'
