DU UG Admission 2026: Today is a big day for lakhs of students awaiting undergraduate admission at Delhi University. The university will release the first seat allotment list under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) today, July 16, at 5:00 PM. Candidates who have registered and locked their college and course preferences on the CSAS portal will be able to view their allotted college and course by logging into the official portal.
The admission process will commence with the release of the first list. This year, admission will be granted to a total of 71,624 seats across 73 undergraduate programs in 69 DU colleges and departments. According to the university, 2,08,043 candidates have locked their final preferences this time; consequently, there is a competition among approximately three students for every seat.
The first seat allotment list is to be released today at 5:00 PM.
After the release of the first seat allotment list, students who are allotted a seat must accept it between July 16 and July 18 (by 11:59 PM). Candidates who fail to accept the seat within the stipulated time will be excluded from the CSAS counseling process. Additionally, the respective colleges will conduct document verification from July 16 to July 20 (by 4:59 PM). Once verification is complete, candidates must pay the online admission fee by July 21 (11:59 PM). Provisional admission will be considered confirmed only after the fee is paid. The second seat allotment list will be released on July 25.
How to Check Your Seat Allotment Status
To check their seat allotment status, candidates must first visit the official DU UG admission portal website.
Next, click on the 'Candidate Login' option and enter your CUET UG 2026 application number and password.
Then, enter the security CAPTCHA and log in.
After logging in, click on the 'First Round Allotment Status' link on the dashboard to view complete details regarding the allotted college and course.

What to Do After Getting a Seat?
Once a seat is allotted, candidates must first select the 'Accept Allotted Seat' option. Subsequently, the respective college will verify the uploaded documents. If the college requests additional information or documents, candidates should regularly check their dashboard for updates. The online fee must be paid following document verification; only then will the admission process be considered complete.
Registration Record Broken This Year
There was immense enthusiasm among students regarding admissions at Delhi University this year. The highest number of registrations since the launch of the CSAS portal in 2022 has been recorded this time. A total of 273,751 candidates registered; of these, 218,284 completed the Phase 1 process, and 280,043 candidates submitted their college and course preferences. Admissions will be granted for a total of 71,624 undergraduate seats at the university. Furthermore, an analysis of the registration data reveals that female participation exceeded that of males; out of the 218,284 candidates, 120,509 (approximately 55.5%) are women, while 44.8% are men.
