Arsenal are close to completing the signing of Club Brugge forward Christos Tzolis, as reported on 16 July 2026.
According to The Athletic, the North London club has reached an agreement with Brugge worth €40 million for the 24-year-old Greek star.
The Gunners see Tzolis as a direct replacement for Leandro Trossard, who recently made a move to Turkish side Besiktas.
However, this acquisition will not affect Arsenal’s ongoing interest in Aston Villa winger Morgan Rogers.
Earlier, the club had made an enquiry for Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, but the Italian side confirmed that the 21-year-old was not available for transfer, leading Arsenal to explore other options.
Tzolis was quickly identified as an ideal candidate owing to his exceptional pace, impressive work rate, and ability to play across multiple attacking positions.
English fans may remember the Greece international from his time at Norwich City, where he featured for three seasons.
During his spell at Carrow Road, Tzolis managed three goals in 30 appearances, a modest return that didn’t fully showcase his potential.
Since joining Club Brugge in 2024, the winger has transformed into a top-level performer, significantly improving his reputation in European football.
Across 108 matches for the Belgian side, Tzolis has recorded 43 goals and 45 assists, establishing himself as one of the most productive forwards in the league.
His contribution was pivotal in Brugge’s title-winning campaign last season, where he notched up 22 goals and 29 assists in 52 appearances.
While Tzolis would be an exciting addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad, competition for places could limit his playing time, particularly if Arsenal also succeed in landing Rogers during the current transfer window.
