With the conclusion of the World Cup, focus now shifts back to Fantasy Premier League (FPL) as preparations begin for the 2026/27 campaign.

In anticipation of the new season, FPL has confirmed that 11 players have undergone positional reclassifications within the game, potentially influencing their selection value for fantasy managers.

Among the notable adjustments is Manchester City’s Omar Marmoush, who moves from midfielder to forward — a change that could significantly affect his popularity among FPL players.

Manchester United’s Patrick Dorgu has also been reclassified, shifting from defender to midfielder, a logical move given his advanced role on the field throughout last season.

Fantasy Premier League – Key Position Changes Ahead of 2026/27

Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly, who initially broke through as a full-back, is now listed as a midfielder after featuring prominently in central areas towards the end of the previous campaign.

Eli Junior Kroupi has been reassigned as a midfielder instead of a forward. However, his future at Bournemouth — or even in the Premier League — remains uncertain as the transfer window progresses.

At Brentford, Keane Lewis-Potter has been shifted from defender to midfielder, while Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon returns to a defensive classification after being listed as a midfielder last season.
