Former Barcelona forward Marcus Rashford took to social media to send a heartfelt message of congratulations to his ex-teammates from the Catalan club.

The gesture came after no fewer than eight members of Hansi Flick’s Spanish national team secured triumph at the World Cup.

During Spain’s journey to victory over Argentina in last weekend’s final on football’s biggest international stage, several Barcelona players—Pau Cubarsí, Dani Olmo, Lamine Yamal and match-winning hero Ferran Torres—played crucial roles.

Throughout the tournament, Pedri, Gavi and Eric García also made notable contributions, while Joan García observed closely from the bench.

Following the final in New York, the Barcelona contingent gathered for celebratory photos and posts across social media platforms.

As mentioned earlier, one of these celebratory posts caught the attention of Marcus Rashford, who was part of Hansi Flick’s attacking unit during the previous season.

Upon seeing a photo of Lamine Yamal, Gavi and Pedri celebrating Spain’s triumph, the Manchester United star commented with the words, ‘Barca boys’, followed by a heart emoji.

The message was warmly received by fans, symbolising the camaraderie and mutual respect shared between Rashford and his former Barcelona comrades.

The post further highlighted the deep connections that remain between players despite changes in clubs and national allegiances.

Spain’s World Cup success marked a historic moment for both the national team and Barcelona’s youth setup, which played a massive role in nurturing several of the tournament’s standout performers.
