Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Launched: Samsung has launched its new foldable smartphone Galaxy Z Fold 8 in the Galaxy Unpacked event. The company claims that this is the lightest Galaxy Z Fold smartphone ever. The phone has a new Flex Titanium design, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Four Galaxy processor, 4800 mAh battery and 50 megapixel dual rear camera. Along with this, support for Android 17 based One UI 9 is also available.
The starting price of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 in India has been kept at Rs 1,79,999. Its 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage variant will be available at this price, while the price of 12 GB plus 512 GB model is Rs 1,99,999 and the price of 16 GB plus 1 TB variant is Rs 2,39,999. The phone will be available in graphite, cream and lavender colors, while the pistachio color will be available online only. The company is also offering upgrade bonus up to Rs 10,000, bank or UPI cashback up to Rs 9,000, no cost EMI and two years Samsung Care Plus Protection Plan. Apart from this, under the Galaxy Forever Program, the option of assured buyback up to 55 percent will also be available.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 has a 7.6 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X inner display and 5.5 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover screen. Both displays support 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3000 nits. The phone has a new Flex Titanium design, in which titanium plate and titanium alloy film have been used. The company says that this makes the phone thinner and stronger than before, while the hinge also opens more smoothly. It has Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, up to 16 GB RAM and up to 1 TB storage.
Talking about the camera, it has two 50 megapixel rear cameras, 10 megapixel cover camera and 10 megapixel inner camera. It supports 8K video recording at 30 fps.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 has a 4800 mAh battery, which supports 45 W wired and 20 W wireless charging. The phone runs on Android 17 based One UI 9. For content creators, it has been provided with dual recording feature, through which video can be recorded simultaneously from cameras on both sides of the phone and the preview can also be seen on the cover screen. The new My FanCam feature automatically tracks the selected subject and adjusts the video framing. The phone has support for 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth, USB Type C and NFC. It has an IP48 rating and weighs 201 grams, making it the lightest Galaxy Z Fold smartphone till date.
