Amidst the student protests at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has directed its MPs to be present in both the houses of Parliament on Thursday. Special instructions have been issued for a large number of MPs to participate in the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha. It is believed that the purpose of this step is to demonstrate its numerical strength in the Upper House.
BJP has asked its MPs to be present in maximum numbers in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha houses on Thursday. The party has specifically instructed its Rajya Sabha MPs to remain present in the House from 11:00 am till the end of the day's proceedings. However, no formal whip has been issued for either house.
