After a long wait, the much awaited platform number 24 of Howrah Station is finally going to start its journey. It will be opened for passenger traffic from 5 am on July 27. Railway authorities said that passengers can start their journey from the new platform only after hearing the station’s microphone announcement (Train News).

This 635 meter long platform number 24 is specially designed keeping in mind long distance mail and express trains. Any 24-room train can easily stop here. Elahi settlement has modern design and passenger comfort in platform construction. There is also a modern signaling system, Eastern Railway has spent Tk 2.69 crore on the new platform.

Passengers of long distance and local trains will get great benefits if the new platform. There is no exact address of the time of arrival of the train, now it can be assumed that the train will return in a certain rhythm. Then in 1992 the number increased to 23 in 2009 after the formation of the New Terrible Complex. Now new platform number 24 has been added to this historic journey.
