Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed deep sorrow over the septic tank accident in Omkareshwar. He said that those responsible for this incident will be held accountable and strict action will be taken against the culprits. While giving instructions for a departmental inquiry into the entire matter, the Chief Minister clearly said that negligence will not be tolerated at any level.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has directed that the officers and employees who were negligent in the accident should be immediately suspended. He said that whoever is found guilty in the departmental inquiry, strict action will be taken against him including dismissal. The safety of the general public is of utmost importance for the state government and any kind of negligence in this will not be accepted.
Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, the district administration has started action. The administration has issued a show cause notice to encroachment nodal officer and sub-engineer Suresh Chandra Patidar. Further action will be taken based on the investigation of the case.
The Chief Minister has instructed the District Administration and the Municipal Council to make all necessary arrangements to ensure that filth and sewage water does not reach the ghats of Omkareshwar. He said that adequate barricading, warning boards and deployment of police and home guards should be ensured at ghats and other dangerous places.
The Chief Minister has given instructions to conduct a survey of all sewer chambers. He said that wherever there are broken or damaged lids, they should be replaced immediately and all necessary repair work should be completed without delay. He told the officials that the district administration will take full responsibility to ensure that such incidents do not happen again in future.
It is noteworthy that on Saturday, a tragic accident took place in Brahmpuri parking area of Omkareshwar, in which a three-year-old innocent child died after falling into the septic tank. According to the information, after the action to remove encroachment in Dharamshala complex located in Brahmapuri parking area, the debris was kept safe there so that no accident occurs.
It was reported that later some unknown people, while taking out iron, rods and other scrap materials from the debris, damaged the lid of the septic tank and left it open. A three-year-old boy died after falling into this open septic tank. Now the entire matter is being investigated and the process of action has been started against those responsible.
