The Kashi Rudras, champions of the UPT20 League twice, officially presented their new jersey for the upcoming season during a press conference held in Varanasi on Friday. This event celebrated the franchise's strong ties with its fans and the city's rich spiritual heritage.

The newly designed jersey draws inspiration from the philosophical teachings of Lord Shiva and the city's historical significance. The blue color symbolizes Lord Shiva's tranquility, representing clarity and composure under pressure, while the orange signifies his dynamic energy, embodying courage and fearless intent. The cosmic details pay homage to Lord Shiva as the Guru of the Universe, inspiring boundless ambition, and the mandala pattern symbolizes unity and collective strength, encapsulating the essence of Kashi Rudras.

Prior to the jersey launch, the team, led by captain Karan Sharma and head coach Dhruv Singh, visited the revered Kashi Vishwanath Temple to seek blessings, reaffirming their dedication to embodying the spirit and pride of one of India's oldest cities. Following this, the squad engaged with young aspiring cricketers at Sigra Stadium, where Captain Sharma shared insights from his career and encouraged the youth to stay disciplined and focused on their goals, emphasizing the franchise's commitment to grassroots cricket development.

Later in the evening, the Kashi Rudras team participated in the traditional Ganga Aarti on the banks of the River Ganga, embracing a cultural practice that reflects the spiritual identity of Kashi.

During the launch, Captain Karan Sharma expressed pride in wearing the Kashi Rudras jersey, stating that it represents more than just a cricket team; it symbolizes the rich history and culture of the city. With a strong foundation built over previous seasons, the team's objective is to secure another championship for their fans to celebrate.

Having previously clinched two UPT20 League titles, the Kashi Rudras are eager to reclaim the trophy and solidify their reputation as one of the league's top franchises. The defending champions have added six new players to their roster during the UPT20 Player Auction held in Agra last week. After retaining 12 players, Kashi Rudras welcomed Mohammad Sharim, Vaibhav Choudhary, Vijay Yadav, Virat Jaiswal, Manav Sindhu, and Sahab Yuvraj Singh to complete their 18-member squad for the upcoming season.

In preparation for the new season, Kashi Rudras has also launched the Rudras Cup, a regional scouting tournament aimed at promoting grassroots cricket. This initiative, along with extensive player trials, provides aspiring cricketers with a platform to showcase their skills to the Kashi Rudras scouting team, enhancing the franchise's talent identification efforts.
