Lock Upp 2 aka Sach Ya Sazaa may have crowned its winner, but the controversy surrounding Shreya Kalra’s victory continues. After Shreya lifted the trophy and took home the Rs 1 crore prize, some viewers questioned the result and alleged that host Farah Khan had been partial towards her. Farah, who co-hosted the reality show with Riteish Deshmukh, has now responded to the criticism and addressed the claims of bias. In a recent interaction with Shreya, the filmmaker opened up about the allegations and revealed what she actually knew about the contestant before the show. Farah’s explanation also sheds light on a surprising connection between the two.

Farah Khan reacts to 'biased host claims

Farah Khan addressed the allegations in her latest YouTube vlog, where she visited Shreya Kalra at her Mumbai home. During their conversation, the filmmaker decided to ask the contestant directly whether they had ever met before Lock Upp 2. “I want to ask on record, Shreya, have we ever met before? Before I saw you on stage?” Farah asked.

After Shreya replied in the negative, Farah explained that she only discovered their professional connection after viewers started accusing her of favouritism. “After two weeks I got to know because people started commenting that I was a biased host,” she said.

Farah then explained that both she and Shreya were associated with the same management company, Qyuki. However, she claimed that she was unaware of this connection when the show began. “They have 70 content creators! So I called them and asked if Shreya is under them, and they said yes. But I didn't know, so how was I biased?” Farah said.

Shreya Kalra says Farah Khan 'picked on' her

  however, had a different take on Farah’s behaviour during the show. The Roadies star jokingly reminded the filmmaker that she had actually been quite strict with her from the beginning. “But the fact is that you were the one who picked on me from the beginning!” Shreya said.

She recalled how Farah had shouted at her during the first week and claimed that even when she was performing well, the host continued to criticise her. “In the first week you shouted on me, and even when I was doing good, you were only shouting at me!” Shreya said.

She also brought up the fight involving Akanksha Choudhary, recalling that Farah had told her not to get overly excited about looking better in comparison to another contestant. “Even when the [Akanksha] Choudhary fight happened, you told me not to be too happy because I was looking better in comparison to her but not by myself!” Shreya added. Farah responded by rolling her eyes and maintained that she had never said Shreya was not doing well. The exchange eventually turned light-hearted, with the two laughing together.

Meanwhile, the discussion came days after Shreya was crowned the winner of  . In the finale, the ex-inmates were asked to choose between Shreya and Shivangi, while the jailers also cast their votes for their favourite contestant.

Shreya eventually emerged victorious, taking home the coveted trophy and Rs 1 crore prize money.
