Bihar STET 2026: There is a major update for those aspiring to become government teachers in Bihar. The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced the start date for the application process for the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2026. According to the notification issued by the Board's Chairman, Dr. Tyagarajan SM, applications for the Bihar STET exam will commence on August 17, 2026. A detailed schedule for the examination will be released separately by the Board.
The STET exam is conducted to determine eligibility for teaching positions in secondary schools (Classes 9 and 10) or higher secondary schools (Classes 11 and 12).
Bihar STET Exam Pattern
The Bihar STET exam will be conducted in an online Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. All questions in the exam will be Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs). The exam is divided into two parts: Paper-1 and Paper-2. Paper-1 is conducted for Classes 9 and 10, while Paper-2 is for Classes 11 and 12.
This two-and-a-half-hour exam will consist of questions totaling 150 marks. Of these, questions worth 100 marks will be based on the core subject, and 50 marks will be allocated to teaching aptitude and other related competencies.

Backward Class: 45.50% marks
Extremely Backward Class: 42.50% marks
SC/ST: 40% marks
How to Apply
Candidates must apply online for the Bihar STET 2026. Once the application process begins, candidates should visit the official website of the Bihar School Examination Board and click on the STET 2026 application link. Candidates must first register; during registration, they need to fill in the required personal and educational details to log in.
After logging in, candidates must enter their personal details, educational qualifications, and exam-related information into the application form. Finally, they must upload the necessary documents, a photograph, and their signature. Submit the form after paying the application fee online.
