Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra has started in Jammu from 17th August. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of the yatra. This group will reach Poonch in Jammu and visit Baba Budha Amarnath temple. On this special occasion, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that the devotees participating in this yatra will have a spiritual experience. This journey is going to last for a total of 12 days. Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra will start from today till 28th August. To facilitate this journey, a portal has been started, in which information and registration to the journey will be done.

 

All the people participating in this yatra will go to Rajpura village of Mandi tehsil of Poonch district. There is an ancient Baba Budha Amarnath temple in this village. Every year lakhs of devotees come to visit this temple. However, last year due to Operation Sindoor, less number of devotees came here to visit. For your information, Lord Shiva is worshiped in Baba Budha Amarnath temple. There is Pulastya river near the temple, where lakhs of devotees take bath before visiting the temple.

 

What is the importance of the temple?

Baba Budha Amarnath temple has a very special significance in Hindu religion. This temple is considered as sacred as the Amarnath cave. For this reason the journey to the temple is known as Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra. A white colored Shivalinga is present in the sanctum sanctorum of this temple. According to religious belief, Lord Shiva appeared before a woman in the form of an old Baba. For this reason the name of this temple is called Budha Amarnath Temple. This temple is situated at an altitude of about 2,900 feet above sea level. There is a cave in Baba Budha Amarnath temple, where a stream of cold water flows. This cave makes the temple very beautiful.

What is the state's preparation?

Langar arrangements have been made for the pilgrims at many places in Nowshera, Sunderbani and Rajouri districts. Along with this, the traffic police has issued an advisory to control the traffic on the roads. According to the information, Poonch district administration has started a portal through which pilgrims will be able to register for the journey.

 

Special arrangements have been made in the state for Budha Amarnath Yatra. Police will be deployed at various places for the security of the pilgrims. The police will especially keep vigil in many areas of Poonch and Rajouri, so that the journey of the pilgrims remains safe.

 

People from all over the country participate in the yatra

As soon as Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra started, special enthusiasm was seen among the devotees. According to media reports, people have come from different states to participate in this yatra. Many people from Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka have come to participate in this yatra.
