“We’ve chosen to do it in the living room of our house here, where we have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and where we live the reality of our lives,” Rodríguez told Vogue in an interview published Sunday.

Speaking shortly before the ceremony, she said she wanted their children to grow up associating the family home with the moment their parents got married.

“In 30 years’ time I want the children to think, ‘Something wonderful happened at this table—the wedding vows of our parents.’”

For a couple accustomed to extraordinary wealth and constant public attention, Rodríguez said privacy and intimacy carried more value than extravagance. “Because castles, houses, islands, horses, cars: We have all of that within reach every day. But something intimate—that’s more unusual for us,” she said.

The couple also wanted their children to be at the heart of the occasion. Rodríguez called them the “protagonists” of the wedding, reflecting the central role they play in the family’s everyday life.

The ceremony marked another milestone for Ronaldo and Rodríguez: 10 years since they first met at a Gucci store in Madrid, where she was working as a sales assistant, according to Page Six.

Their connection with Gucci extended to the wedding itself. Rodríguez wore a custom outfit by the Italian fashion house, while Ronaldo and their children were also dressed in Gucci.

The couple may still hold a larger celebration later. “In the future we will have a big wedding, so we can celebrate with family and friends,” Rodríguez said.

After the ceremony, Ronaldo and Rodríguez traveled to the Shrine of Our Lady of Fátima, where they received a blessing from a priest.

Reflecting on the wedding afterward, Rodríguez said the day unfolded exactly as she had hoped.”It was exactly as I’d imagined it. Intimate, full of love, and with our family in the most important starring role. I couldn’t hold back the tears.”
