Madhepura. There was a situation of chaos for some time due to the huge crowd of devotees gathered at the famous Sinheshwar temple on the last Monday of Sawan. After around 8 am in the morning, the number of devotees for Jalabhishek suddenly started increasing. Under the pressure of the crowd, the queue broke and a scuffle started. During this time, the administration's barricades also broke, leading to a stampede-like situation.

About half a dozen devotees fell and got injured in the accident. A policeman on duty also got injured while controlling the crowd. It was told that even his uniform got torn under the pressure of the crowd. All the injured were taken to JNKT Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Crowd had started gathering in the temple since night.
After the completion of the official puja at around 1 pm on Sunday night, the doors of the temple were opened for the devotees. After this, a large number of devotees started reaching the temple for Jalabhishek. The crowd continued to increase throughout the night and by morning a huge crowd of devotees had gathered in the temple premises.

After around 8 in the morning, suddenly the pressure of the crowd increased further. There was pushing and shoving in the queue and within some time the barricading was broken. After this there was chaos among the devotees.

Top officials including DM-SP reached the spot-
As soon as information about the worsening situation was received, administrative and police officers including Madhepura DM, SP, SDM and SDPO reached the spot. Additional police force was also called. The officers took charge and controlled the crowd, made the devotees queue up again and started the arrangements for Jalabhishek.

The temple trust committee and administration appealed to the devotees to maintain peace and patience.

The injured were admitted to the hospital-
After the incident, the injured were immediately taken to JNKT Medical College Hospital, where they were treated. The injured are said to include Runa Devi of Sonbarsa area of ​​Saharsa, Sintu Kumar, resident of Manganj of Supaul, constable Siddhant Kumar and Sulena Devi and others.

Keeping in mind the safety of the devotees, the administration rearranged the arrangements and kept a constant watch on the crowd in the temple premises.
