Serayah has confirmed that she has ended her engagement and relationship with rapper Joey Bada$$, sharing an emotional statement about the difficult decision and the circumstances that led to their separation.

The Ruth & Boaz actress addressed the breakup on Instagram on Monday, August 24, explaining that she had spent considerable time thinking about the future of their relationship before deciding to walk away. Serayah and Joey Bada$$ had been together for more than three years and share a child.

In her statement, Serayah said she made the difficult decision to end both her engagement and relationship with the father of her child. She described the relationship as one in which she had invested deeply, saying she genuinely believed in the life they were building together and wanted to protect their family.

However, she revealed that the relationship had become increasingly painful because of what she described as repeated infidelity. According to Serayah, she discovered that Joey had allegedly been unfaithful on multiple occasions during their time together.

The actress said the alleged cheating occurred even during some of the most emotionally significant and vulnerable periods of her life. While she did not disclose intimate details about the relationship, she made it clear that the experiences played a major role in her decision to end their engagement.

Serayah also explained why she chose to speak publicly about the breakup. She stressed that her intention was not to seek sympathy, retaliate against her former partner or publicly attack anyone involved.

Instead, she said she wanted to share her experience because many women are encouraged to doubt their own instincts when something in a relationship feels wrong. She encouraged women to trust themselves and pay attention when their intuition suggests that something is not right.

Despite the painful circumstances surrounding the breakup, Serayah emphasized that protecting her child remains one of her priorities. She said she intends to respect her child’s need to have both parents in his life and therefore would not reveal every private detail about what happened between her and Joey.

Serayah and Joey Bada$$ reportedly first met at a birthday celebration in 2021. Their relationship later developed, with the pair eventually becoming one of the entertainment industry’s notable young couples.

Their romance gained further attention when Serayah appeared in Joey Bada$$’s music video for Show Me, which was released in 2023. The collaboration fueled speculation about their relationship before the couple eventually made their romance public.

The pair later welcomed their son on June 19 of last year. Just one month later, in July, they announced their engagement, marking what appeared to be an important new chapter in their relationship.

Their engagement has now come to an end following Serayah’s decision to separate from the rapper. Her statement suggests that the alleged repeated infidelity ultimately became impossible for her to overlook.

Joey Bada$$ has not publicly responded to Serayah’s allegations so far. It remains unclear whether he will address the claims or provide his perspective on the circumstances surrounding their breakup.

For now, Serayah appears focused on moving forward while maintaining privacy for her child and navigating the end of a relationship that she once believed would become a lasting family partnership.
