Barcelona could be set for a hectic finish to the transfer window, with up to five players facing uncertain futures at the club.

According to a major update from Jose Alvarez Haya on El Chiringuito TV, Frenkie de Jong, Jules Kounde, Alejandro Balde, Hector Fort and Marc Casado could all leave Barcelona this summer.

However, not all of the situations are identical.

Casado and Fort are already training away from the main group, and their exits now appear almost certain.

The futures of De Jong, Kounde and Balde are less straightforward, but Barcelona are prepared to listen to offers.

Barcelona's transfer strategy, and their willingness to consider more sales, could be connected to their pursuit of a top-class centre-forward, with the signing of such a player requiring a major financial push.

For most of the summer, Barcelona have focused on strengthening the squad, but the club may still need departures before making another major move in the market.

Marc Casado and Hector Fort seem to be the closest to leaving, as both are working separately from the squad and their futures away from Barcelona now look effectively settled.

But the bigger development is that Barcelona may not stop there.

If the club want to create more financial space for a new striker, the sale of established first-team players could become a key part of the plan.

That brings the situations of Kounde, De Jong and Balde into sharper focus.

Kounde's case is especially interesting. As reported earlier, Hansi Flick spoke with the Frenchman during pre-season and explained that his role would change.

Eric Garcia is expected to be the preferred choice at right-back, while Kounde could receive more chances at centre-back. That means the defender is no longer assured of the same role he previously enjoyed.

Barcelona are also willing to consider a strong offer for Kounde, which leaves his future beyond the close of the window uncertain.

De Jong is another player whose position is being watched closely. His relationship with Barcelona is currently not at its best, and the club is keeping the door open for a possible departure if the right offer arrives.

Finally, Balde's situation is also one to monitor.

The left-back has reportedly been informed that he is not part of Flick's plans, while Manchester United have been linked with a move, and there is said to be a real chance that Barcelona could negotiate his exit.
