India’s mobile gaming market is shifting towards AI-powered smartphones that prioritise sustained performance, display quality, cooling and battery life. The realme P4s 5G, launching August 26, combines a Dimensity 7400 Ultra processor with a Hyper Vision+ AI Chip, 144Hz 1.5K AMOLED display, 8000mAh battery and AI gaming features.

New Delhi: Mobile gaming has evolved from a casual pastime into a demanding form of entertainment, with smartphones now expected to deliver experiences once associated with dedicated gaming phones.

According to a report by Mordor Intelligence, India's gaming market is projected to grow from roughly $5 billion in 2026 to $9.89 billion by 2031, at a 14.52 per cent CAGR, with mobile alone commanding close to 80 per cent of that market, making the smartphone, not the console or PC, the country's primary gaming phone.

Higher refresh rates, richer graphics, faster touch response and increasingly complex game environments have raised the performance bar, making the modern gaming phone 5G category increasingly focused on frame stability, latency, thermals and battery endurance.

Sustaining high frame rates over extended sessions requires a balance of processing power, thermal management, display responsiveness and intelligent resource allocation, rather than peak benchmark numbers alone.
