Lucknow: The politics of Uttar Pradesh has once again heated up regarding Jaiprakash Narayan International Center (JPNIC). Let us tell you, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak have raised questions on the previous Samajwadi Party government regarding this project. At the same time, SP President Akhilesh Yadav has also hit back by making serious allegations against the BJP government.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that JPNIC was started with a cost of around Rs 200 crore, but later its cost increased to around Rs 864 crore. Despite this the project could not be completed. He claimed that Rs 150 to 200 crore more may be required to complete it.
Yogi Adityanath alleged, "The SP government had conspired to hand over the operation of this government property, which includes facilities like hotels, gyms and clubs, to its family and close ones by forming a private limited company, so that the income from it would go to their homes. This included Akhilesh Yadav, Dimple Yadav and Dharmendra Yadav. It was fortunate that a double engine government came to power in the state, which handed it back to Lucknow Development Authority (LDA)."
According to the allegations of CM Yogi, in the previous SP government, a special society was formed for the operation of JPNIC. It is alleged that its rules were prepared in such a way that even after the change of power, its control would remain with the Yadav family and their close ones.
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak also targeted Akhilesh Yadav and said, "Today Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has issued his statement on JPNIC. The government generally does not want to expose anyone, but since they have already started, it is my duty and duty to present the truth to the people of the state."
He said the construction of JPNIC started during the Samajwadi Party government from 2003 to 2007 and Rs 200 crore was allocated for the project in 2013. According to the reader, "This project started from Rs 200 crore and reached Rs 850 crore, but only 60 percent of the work was completed. Ask them where the money went? Costs escalated again and again, find out which contractors were lining their pockets and who was building it."
Brajesh Pathak also raised questions on the operational system of JPNIC. He said, "The government owns the project, but who will run it? The responsibility of running it was given to a private steering committee. The members of that steering committee were persons named Akhilesh Yadav, Dimple Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav and Wasif Hasan. Is this not a misuse of the hard-earned money of the people of Uttar Pradesh by creating a family 'private limited' system and taking over the government property and consuming it for their own comforts?"
Pathak clarified that JPNIC has not been sold. He said, "The government has given it on lease to make it operational and functional. The government has given it on lease, has not sold it to anyone. Even today its ownership remains with the state government."
He said that to make JPNIC fully functional, it may cost Rs 200 to 250 crore. According to him, convention centre, auditorium and sports facilities will be operated here. Besides, a museum will also be built, which will be under the authority of Lucknow Development Authority (LDA).
On the other hand, Akhilesh Yadav has retaliated against BJP's allegations through social media. He said, "The Chief Minister is putting his model in front of the public that give JPNIC to someone and then take a gold ingot instead of a brick. The way corruption is being solidified under BJP rule, one day it will also be exposed like 'theft in Ram temple'."
Akhilesh Yadav further alleged that the hypocrisy being done in the name of religion will one day be exposed before the public and the alleged concealment "gold ingots" Will also come forward. At present, allegations and counter-allegations between BJP and Samajwadi Party regarding JPNIC have intensified and both the parties are putting forward their claims to the public regarding this project.
