Celtic registered a comfortable 3-0 win against Aberdeen at Parkhead, maintaining their flawless start to the Scottish Premiership campaign.

The Dons had come into the match without a win over Celtic in their previous 28 league meetings, and there was little in the early exchanges to suggest that run would end, with Camilo Durán putting Celtic ahead early on.

Benjamin Nygren soon added a second for the home side, before Yang Hyun-jun made it 3-0 before the interval.

The second half was far less eventful as Celtic saw out another win to continue their perfect opening to the 26/27 league season.

Celtic controlled most of the possession in the opening stages and turned that early authority into a goal through Camilo Durán. The forward created just enough room on the edge of the area before letting fly with a fierce effort that beat Marius Müller in the Aberdeen goal and flew into the top corner, handing the hosts an early advantage.

They came close to scoring again after excellent play from Yang Hyun-jun, but Haissem Hassan could not make proper contact with the close-range chance, before Durán then shot over while under pressure.

The visitors did manage a rare opening after some neat play through Celtic’s press, but Ayoub Mouloua could not direct his header on target. Shortly afterwards, Celtic wasted another strong chance after regaining possession high up the pitch, though Durán’s attempt was fairly straightforward for Müller to deal with.

In the 33rd minute, the home team got their second. Aberdeen’s defence failed to clear the danger and the ball dropped to Benjamin Nygren, who finished composedly into the corner to double Celtic’s lead.

They almost grabbed a third soon after, but both Durán and Nygren missed decent chances to increase the margin.

Aberdeen nearly pulled one back when Gavin Molloy’s header crashed against the crossbar. But from that moment, Celtic broke at speed, and Yang found himself through one-on-one with the goalkeeper after a defensive mix-up and finished confidently to score Celtic’s third before half-time.

With Celtic fully in command at the interval, the Dons made four substitutions at half-time and showed some improvement after the restart. That, combined with a drop in intensity from the home side, resulted in a quieter second half in which clear chances were scarce for both teams.

Celtic still created a few efforts on goal, with substitute Shumaira Mheuka, who had only joined the club earlier in the day on loan from Chelsea, forcing Müller into a fine save low to his right. Mheuka then linked up with fellow new signing Oliver Sorensen, with the latter’s glancing effort drifting just wide of the post.

That was as good as it got for either side after the break, as Celtic preserved their perfect start to the Scottish Premiership season, while Aberdeen remain 10th after suffering three straight defeats.
