Harry Maguire carried on playing despite a suspected broken nose.

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire suffered a nasty injury less than two minutes into Sunday’s Premier League match against Everton.

Maguire came off worse in a collision with Everton striker Thierno Barry as the two challenged for the ball.

Barry and Maguire both went up for the same delivery, and the Everton forward struck the front of the defender’s face while trying to head it.

The centre-back immediately grabbed his face, raising fears that he had broken his nose, while Leny Yoro was sent out to warm up.

Maguire then received treatment from Manchester United’s medical staff for several minutes, with blood clearly pouring from his nose.

Yoro eventually sat back down on the substitutes’ bench, with Michael Carrick spared another injury setback in his squad.

Carrick is currently without the injured quartet of Amad Diallo, Carlos Baleba, Matthijs de Ligt and Manuel Ugarte.

Mason Mount was named among the substitutes, marking his return to the matchday squad for the first time this season.
