David Raya has begun the 2026/27 season exactly as he finished the previous campaign, while three summer arrivals are included in the top 10 Premier League goalkeepers.

The Arsenal goalkeeper played a major role in the Gunners’ Premier League title triumph last season and has again been a key presence at the start of their championship defence.

He leads the Gradient Sports Premier League goalkeeper rankings for 2026/27.

Here, the Overall Grade reflects how effectively a player performs the skills considered most important for goalkeepers, while Impact Score measures how often that goalkeeper produces the important outcomes.

With that in mind, here is the ranking of Premier League goalkeepers in 2026/27 among players with a minimum of two appearances…

1) David Raya (Arsenal) Grade: 80.7 (3rd overall in Premier League) Impact Score: 7.0 (2nd overall in Premier League)

The highest-ranked goalkeeper from last season, largely due to his Premier League-leading Impact Score, is continuing in much the same fashion. Only two goalkeepers across Europe’s top five leagues are rated higher: Lazio’s Christos Mandas and Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi.

The Bournemouth goalkeeper has the best shot-stopping grade in the Premier League, and by a clear margin. Petrovic’s reflex stop to keep out Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite from point-blank range is one of three ‘big-time saves’ recorded in the league so far this season.

4) Konstantinos Tzolakis (Hull City) Grade: 69.1 (7th) Impact Score: 7.5 (1st)

The one goalkeeper many may not have known before this summer is the only one yet to concede a goal after three matches. Tzolakis has been protected very well by Hull — 14 goalkeepers have faced more shots on target — but he has still produced vital saves in every Tigers game so far, giving him the highest Impact Score in the league.

No Premier League goalkeeper has faced more shots on target than Dean Henderson, but of the eight goals conceded by Crystal Palace, the England goalkeeper has let in five that Gradient class as ‘saveable’ — also the highest figure in the Premier League.

6) Gianluigi Donnarumma (Manchester City) Grade: 77.0 (5th) Impact Score: 6.3 (11th)

The Manchester City goalkeeper has faced only seven shots on target, but he has performed above expectation on four of them — three coming at home against promoted Coventry to secure a 1-0 victory.

7) Senne Lammens (Manchester United) Grade: 73.0 (6th) Impact Score: 6.0 (15th)

Lammens has drawn criticism from a section of Manchester United supporters online who believe that conceding six goals in three matches means it is already time for Karl Darlow. Clearly, it is not. The Gradient grades indicate that Lammens has carried out all of his shot-stopping actions at least to expectation, with five saves above expectation.

8) James Trafford (Leeds United) Grade: 66.4 (8th) Impact Score: 6.8 (3rd)

The new Leeds signing has already begun to justify the record fee paid by the Yorkshire club, having saved 12 of the 14 shots on target he has faced so far. His two saves above expectation were one to push away Igor Jesus’ header on the opening day, and another to deny Malick Yalcouye’s curling effort at Brighton.

9) Antonin Kinsky (Tottenham Hotspur) Grade: 65.3 (9th) Impact Score: 6.4 (11th)

In spite of Tottenham’s poor opening to the season, Kinsky has actually been shielded quite well — only five goalkeepers who have played all three matches so far have faced fewer shots on target. Only Bart Verbruggen has a lower save percentage from shots on target faced.

10) Emiliano Martinez (Chelsea) Grade: 65.0 (10th) Impact Score: 6.2 (13th)

Martinez has played only two matches since being brought in hurriedly when it finally became clear to Chelsea that Robert Sanchez is not good enough. Even so, the Argentina international has still faced more shots on target than every goalkeeper apart from those at Ipswich and Crystal Palace.

11) Lukas Hornicek (Newcastle United) Grade: 63.8 Impact Score: 6.6

12) Jordan Pickford (Everton) Grade: 62.9 Impact Score: 6.7

13) Zion Suzuki (Aston Villa) Grade: 58.5 Impact Score: 6.8

14) Matz Sels (Nottingham Forest) Grade: 59.0 Impact Score: 6.5

15) Robin Roefs (Sunderland) Grade: 58.8 Impact Score: 6.5
