Manchester United are continuing to monitor 19-year-old Polish midfielder Karol Borys after his move to Slask Wroclaw.

The Red Devils may look at a future move for Borys, though the immediate priority is expected to be his progress and development following his change of club this summer.

United brought in a number of midfielders during the summer transfer window, but they are still interested in strengthening that department further by adding more depth and quality.

The club have also returned to the Champions League this season, which has increased the demands on the first-team squad in both domestic and European competitions.

Recruiting young talent remains part of the broader strategy. United have long been known for developing young players, which makes rising prospects like Borys a natural fit for their scouting network.

The Polish teenager had already sorted out his next move before United’s interest came to light, as he completed a permanent transfer from KVC Westerlo to Slask.

United are not the only club following the midfielder. Fiorentina are also keeping an eye on Borys, which could create competition for the Red Devils if his development leads to a future transfer tussle.

Borys joined Slask from Belgian club Westerlo on a free permanent transfer during the summer.

The midfielder signed a three-year deal with the Polish side, giving him a stable platform from which to chase regular senior football.

At 19, his main focus will be on establishing himself at Slask and proving that he can deliver consistently at a high level. His progress in that regard is likely to decide whether United or Fiorentina step up their interest.

The move also marks a return to Polish football for Borys, who will now try to build the kind of form that could earn him a switch to a bigger European club in the future.

For the moment, Borys is a player being watched by United rather than the subject of an active transfer push, but his development at Slask will be closely observed as the club consider future midfield options.
