Balrampur- The problems of the principal who beat a fifth class student suffering from diarrhea and typhoid in Gulriha Hismanpur of Tulsipur have increased. A case of Ankit Pandey, the principal of MYK Memorial Public School, beating a student with a stick after making him stand in the sun had come to light. The student's father Ram Viraj Verma, a resident of Gulriha Hisampur, had filed a complaint in Hariya police station and demanded action.

Taking cognizance of the same matter, on the basis of the investigation report of the Block Education Officer Tulsipur, the District Basic Education Officer has issued a notice to the concerned Principal and sought clarification. The Basic Education Officer said in the notice sent to the manager of MYK Memorial Public School Sarita Shrampur Mpur and the Principal of Gulriha that on September 10, a case of beating of a student had come to light. In which Block Education Officer Tulsipur Swaminath went to the school and investigated.

In the same investigation report, the BEO said that the student has confirmed that he went to school after a long time on 10 September. Due to non-completion of work, the principal Ankit Pandey made him stand in the sun for half an hour and beat him with a stick. Angered by this, the student started going home, upon which the principal beat him again. Marks of beating with a stick have also been found on both legs and left hand of the student. The department says that the principal Ankit Pandey has violated the Right to Education standards and violated the rights.

Child friendly classes are not being conducted in the school. Physical or mental harassment of children is a punishable offence. During the inspection by the BEO it was found that the rooms of class six, seven and eight in the school do not have windows, which is unsafe. Sacks filled with sand and cement were found kept in a room of the school. A water storage tank has been made in the middle of the playground, due to which there is a possibility of children getting injured. Basic Education Officer Shubham Shukla said that an explanation has been sought from the manager and the principal within three days. After this the process of withdrawal of recognition will be initiated.
