Actor Florence Pugh has always been unapologetic over her choice of fashion that has many times created a furore on the internet. The Dune 2 actress has several times made head turns with her sartorial choices and has been on the radar of online body-shamers.
But this doesn't make her stop from wearing what she loves to wear. But, reading some comments on her attire and body was painful for her. Talking about the nasty opinion that netizens put out during her interview with British Vogue, the actress said, "It's so hard. [The internet's] a very mean place. It's really painful to read people being nasty about my confidence or nasty about my weight.''   She adds, ''It never feels good. The one thing I always wanted to achieve was to never sell someone else, something that isn't the real me." Has she always been body confident? "I don't think it's confidence in hoping people like me. I think it's just, like, I don't want to be anyone else." Two years back, Pugh attended Valentino's Fall/Winter 2022 Haute Couture runway show in Rome wearing a see-through sheer gown that bared her chest. The dress garnered a huge backlash from the netizens, who slammed the actress for her choice of outfit. In July 2022, the Don't Worry Darling star wrote, ''Listen, I knew when I wore that incredible Valentino dress that there was no way there wouldn't be a commentary on it. Whether it be negative or positive, we all knew what we were doing. I was excited to wear it, not a wink of me was nervous. I wasn't before, during or even now after.''
She wrote back then, ''So many of you wanted to aggressively let me know how disappointed you were by my 'tiny tits', or how I should be embarrassed by being so 'flat chested'. I've lived in my body for a long time. I'm fully aware of my breast size and am not scared of it.'' In the same interview, Pugh also talked about the bullying she and her ex-boyfriend Zach Braff has gone through over their relationship. Referring to her secret love that blossomed during the pandemic, she said, ''I had to be public in the past because people were bullying me and bullying my partner." The actress added, "Mine and Zach's relationship was quite private until it was nasty, and I could see the toll that it was taking on him and us and our families. And that's when I spoke out. I think for anyone I'm with, I want to protect them. It's not nice knowing that people are saying the worst things I've ever read about someone that I love. So that was necessary. I needed to talk about it. I think any relationship in this limelight is going to be stressed."
