Soon after alleged EY employee death due to extreme work pressure created a controversy, RPG Group Chairman Harsh Goenka used his social media platform to question those who are advocating for toxic work enviroment by sharing Ashneer Grover's video on experience at the major audit firm that is under fire.

In the video featuring former Shark Tank judge, Grover is seen saying that he had once faked sickness to be able to rescue himself from the office. “It was extremely quiet. They were all so lifeless, as if just their final rites were left,” Ashneer Grover said in the video.


The conversations around work culture at Big Four has been making rounds on social media platform after the death of 26-year-old CA.

Govt takes up EY employee death:
The death of 26-year-old Chartered Accountant Anna Sebastian Perayil being investigated, Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Thursday.

Anna Sebastian Perayil died in July and was overworked with a "backbreaking" load as a new employee, which affected her "physically, emotionally, and mentally", her mother Anita Augustine wrote in a letter to EY's India chairman which went viral on social media.

"A thorough investigation into the allegations of an unsafe and exploitative work environment is underway," Labour Minister Shobha Karandlaje posted on X.

EY said it placed "the highest importance on the well-being of all employees". "We are taking the family's correspondence with the utmost seriousness and humility," it said in a statement.

The accounting giant said it works with about 100,000 people at its member firms in India and that Perayil had worked at one such firm for four months.
