New Delhi: Former CEO of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Vince McMahon’s name continues to be in the headlines with Netflix’s latest documentary which is hitting the streaming platform next week. Many wrestlers have opened up regarding McMahon’s disturbing allegations, with some condemning the acts, while others taking a “wait-and-see” approach to the situation. In light of the upcoming Netflix documentary Mr. McMahon, WWE legend Mick Foley has weighed in on his complex relationship with Vince McMahon amidst the ongoing allegations against the former WWE chairman.
WWE Hall Of Famers Mick Foley and Rikishi were guests at Comic-Con Northern Ireland 2024 and were asked about the new Netflix documentary series releasing next week about Vince McMahon. Foley’s comments regarding his former boss came as a bit of a shock to some wrestling fans, as he didn’t outright condemn McMahon, but instead mentioned how he still prefers to look at him fondly and wants to “appreciate him” until he gets more information regarding the situation.
“I feel really bad that someone I care about got into something that seems pretty unsavoury. I’m gonna hold off judgment until I see the (documentary)… I think I’m choosing to appreciate him until I learn more about what may have gone down, “If it wasn’t for the McMahons, then nobody would know who Afa and Sika were, nobody would know who Peter Maivia, Rikishi, all the way down to Roman Reigns to The Usos. So, as far as the Fatu-Anoa’i clan, we’re forever McMahons in WWE,” Rikishi echoed Foley’s sentiments, stating how much the Anoa’i family owes the McMahons.
“I have nothing but respect for the McMahons, and when I say McMahons, I say all of them. What’s happening with him now, as far as the Netflix (series), I’ll make a decision when that comes out. For now, I always believe in people having a second chance in life,” he added.
