Coconut Chutney Recipe : If you eat dosa, idli or menduwada and there is no coconut chutney with it then the taste gets reduced. Coconut chutney doubles the taste. So let's make coconut chutney. Save this recipe.

Ingredients for making Coconut Chutney

  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 1/2 cup green chillies
  • 1/4 cup roasted chickpeas
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ginger paste (optional)
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Coriander
  • Rye

How to make Coconut Chutney

  • Add coconut, green chillies, roasted gram, water, lemon juice, ginger paste (if using) and salt in a mixer jar and mix it.
  • Grind the entire mixture till it becomes a thick liquid.
  • – Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds to it.
  • – Now pour this seasoning over the chutney. – Then garnish it with coriander.
  • Coconut chutney is ready, serve with idli, dosa, vada. You can store this chutney for 3 days.
  • In Tamil Nadu, tamarind paste is added to this chutney, while in Andhra Pradesh, cumin is added. In Karnataka, coriander is added while grinding.
