Supreme Court: This record number of cases are pending for justice in the courts of the country. Most of the cases are pending in the Supreme Court. For the convenience of the plaintiff and the defendant, the Supreme Court has started the facility of providing updates on pending cases through WhatsApp.

While launching this facility, Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said that with the help of Supreme Court's WhatsApp message feature, information will be provided to the lawyers for case list, filing of case and hearing.

You will get information from this WhatsApp number

The Supreme Court has issued a WhatsApp number 87687676 to provide updates on pending cases. No calls or messages can be made on this number. While launching this facility, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court said that this facility will bring significant changes in our daily work and habits and will help a lot in saving paper. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that this is a revolutionary step.

What will be the benefit of WhatsApp number?

CJI said that the Supreme Court's WhatsApp number will increase the access of lawyers to the Supreme Court. Also, people living in remote areas will get information about court proceedings. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, while sharing the views of the central government and the Prime Minister, said that the government is promoting digitalization so that people have easy access to justice.

How to get the list of cases pending in the court?

Justice Chandrachud is heading this bench. The Chief Justice said that now lawyers will get automated messages about filing of cases from the Supreme Court's WhatsApp number. Apart from this, the cause list will also be available to the lawyers on their mobile. Cause list means the list of cases scheduled for hearing in the court on that day.
