Dana Marie, an American expat, has described a unique side of her life in India that she was unable to have abroad: bringing her child to pubs after preschool. Dana gave a complete explanation of her decision-making process in an Instagram video, highlighting how many Indian bars, especially in Bengaluru, are surprisingly family-friendly.

Dana pointed out that many Indian pubs include a wide selection of non-alcoholic beverages, which makes them appropriate for individuals like her and her kids who don’t drink. “There are always mocktails and fresh juices on offer,” she said, highlighting the fact that these establishments serve both conventional pubgoers and families.

Dana claims that many Indian bars, particularly those in Bengaluru, provide a “super nice environment” conducive to the amusement of little children. She used a Bengaluru bar as an example in her film, highlighting its special feature—fish ponds everywhere—that makes it a fun environment for young children.

She also pointed out that a lot of the city’s bars are kid-friendly since they are outside and don’t allow smoking. “On weekends, several bars in Bangalore even arrange events for children! We’ve even been to a kid’s birthday celebration at a bar previously. Bangalore bars are unmatched in their own right!” stated Dana. She made it clear, however, that she wouldn’t bring her kids to a bar at night.

Online users were prompted to comment on the video, saying things like, “I’ve even seen a lot of kids visiting breweries in the nights here! In my opinion, Bangalore’s breweries and pubs resemble restaurants much more than their American counterparts. Another person said, “I brought my two-year-old here. He too thought it was fantastic. There’s nothing like the atmosphere in Bangalore.
