On the second day of the first Test match against Bangladesh, India’s pace attack caused havoc, leaving the visitors reeling at 112/8 at tea. Together, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and Jasprit Bumrah dismissed eight batsmen from Bangladesh. Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, and Jasprit Bumrah applied sustained pressure to the Bangladeshi hitters.

Ravichandran Ashwin led India’s first inning with 113 runs scored before they were bowled out for 376. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 56 runs, while Ravindra Jadeja chipped in with 86. India overcame early losses because of the undefeated 195-run combination between Ashwin and Jadeja.

Ashwin’s century (102*) and Jadeja’s 86* stabilized the side when they were reduced to 176/6, helping India to 339/6 at stumps. While Bangladesh failed to score any more runs, the duo controlled the last session. Although Bangladesh’s star spinner, Hasan Mahmud, took four wickets for 58 runs, India ultimately prevailed because to Ashwin and Jadeja’s tenacity.
