In Katihar, Bihar, a mob beat up three people badly on the charge of stealing a bicycle. One person died due to the beating by the violent mob. At the same time, two people were seriously injured. The police reached the spot and admitted the injured to the hospital for treatment. The police have arrested three people including the village sarpanch. The matter is being investigated. The incident created a sensation in the area.

The incident occurred in Fulwaria Ward No. 4 of the Kodha police station area of ​​the district. Here a mob of people caught three youths on the charge of stealing a bicycle. They were beaten up after tying their hands. The mob kicked, punched, and beat all three with sticks. The police came to know about the incident. The police reached the spot and rescued the three youths from the mob. They were taken to the hospital for treatment. One of the youths died. When the family of the deceased came to know about the incident, there was chaos in the house.

Arrested on suspicion of bicycle theft

According to the police, 45-year-old Panchlal Rishi, a resident of Jhiktia village of the district, had gone to Phulwari Das Tola with his friends Bittu Munda and Vilas Rishi. In the village, Manoj Das's bicycle was stolen. The villagers caught Panchlal and his companions on suspicion of stealing the bicycle. A crowd gathered there. The hands of all three were tied and they were beaten up. According to the information, the violent mob of villagers beat all three badly. They kept asking for help from people to save themselves but no one took pity on them. All three were seriously injured due to the beating by the mob.

One died due to a mob beating

The information was received by the police. Police's 112 team and patrol team reached the spot. They sent all three to the local hospital. Here the doctors declared Panchlal dead. Bittu Munda and Vilas Rishi were referred to Purnia after primary treatment.

On the other hand, when Panchlal did not reach home till late evening, his wife went to look for him. She said that she came to know through the villagers that her husband was admitted to the Kodha Government Hospital. On reaching the hospital, she came to know that her husband Panchlal Rishi had died. On hearing the news, she started crying loudly.

On the complaint of the deceased's wife, the police registered a case against four named accused and some unknown people. The police have arrested three accused. The police said that on the complaint, apart from the area's Sarpanch Dinesh Das, Sulekha Devi and Neeraj Das have been arrested. The rest of the accused are being searched for.
