Wrexham has called on supporters to stop persistent standing during matches at the Racecourse Ground. The club has issued a firm statement to fans warning of potential consequences.

Wrexham is currently leading League One after bagging 13 points from six matches. However, they faced a setback following a defeat by Tom Brady's Birmingham City on Monday night.

Owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are pushing for strong fan support as Wrexham aims for a hat-trick of promotions. The current capacity of the Racecourse Ground stands at 12,600.

Persistent standing inside the ground is not permitted anywhere in the stadium this includes stairwells, exits, gangways and in the seating areas. The statement also outlines the severe measures that could be taken if fans continue to stand, which may include shutting down entire blocks or stands.

Actors Reynolds and McElhenney, the celebrity duo steering the club, have expressed their inability to introduce standing-room only sections at the Racecourse Ground. Nonetheless, they have previously hinted at ambitious plans to expand the stadium's capacity to a whopping 55,000 seats in the future.

Fans quickly took to social media to share their thoughts on the announcement. One supporter tweeted a humorous jab: "Such a shame that Rob and Ryan won't be able to stand up throughout the match when they're here now." The club's owners have a habit of standing in the owner's box.

Another fan expressed their personal tradition: "I've not sat down to watch a game in the last 6 years at least. I will continue to participate in my no-sitting down tradition for the foreseeable. Diolch yn fawr," they declared in the comments.

Others provided more measured responses, suggesting the club's hand may have been forced: "Hopefully it's one of them statements they've sort of had to make."
