In India, a commercial driving license can be issued to anyone under the Motor Vehicles Act 1988. A commercial license means that you have a permit to drive commercial vehicles operated for business. There are three types of commercial licenses.

In which different types of licenses are made for heavy, medium and light vehicles. Now the Ministry of Road and Transport issues transport license for all types of commercial vehicles. With this you can drive any kind of commercial vehicle like truck, bus, auto.

You can apply online to get a commercial license. For this, you have to apply on the official website of the RTO. After this, you have to fill the form. In which you can attach your identity card which includes voter ID, Aadhaar card, passport or any other document. Along with this, you will also have to upload a document as address proof.

Along with this, you will also have to upload the medical certificate and form five given by the training center. After this, you will have to pay the fee and submit the form. And on the scheduled date, you will have to go for the test. Apart from the online process, you can also apply offline by visiting the RTO office.

To get a commercial truck license, you will have to submit some documents. Which includes passport, voter ID, ration card or any other document as proof of address. Then Aadhar card, birth certificate, PAN card or any other document will have to be submitted as proof of identity. Along with this, you will also have to submit Application 2, Form 1A and Form 5. Also, original learner's license and passport size photo will be required.
