While Pant reaches the milestone of six Test hundreds in only 58 innings, Dhoni takes 144 innings to accomplish the milestone. With eight hundreds, Wriddhiman Saha is third among Indian wicketkeepers with the most hundreds.
India Wins with a Hundred and Pant

India set a goal of 515 runs for Bangladesh to win the first Test, and Shubman Gill’s sixth hundred came after Pant’s magnificent century. In the first innings, Gill was out for a duck, but he quickly recovered to demonstrate his amazing talent and the reason he is so highly regarded in Indian cricket. With a stunning 119 off 176 balls, Gill helped India declare the second inning at 287-4.

Earlier, India responded to Bangladesh’s first-inning total of 376 by bowling them out for 49 in the first innings. R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja scored 199 runs for the seventh wicket, saving India from certain defeat at 144/6 in the first innings. With a brilliant century of 113, Ashwin achieved his sixth Test century, while Jadeja was dismissed for 86, almost missing out on his century.

India has a terrific chance to start the series on a 1-0 advantage. Since rain is expected on Days 4 and 5, the team would want to end the match on Day 3. India would prefer not to take any chances.
