In the first Test of the two-match series, India is presently playing Bangladesh in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. India started the first day on the losing side, but they have been leading the whole time. Shubman Gill is one of the hitters who has also made a lasting impression on the game. In the first inning, he was out for a duck, but in the third, he returned with aplomb.

India Set Bangladesh’s 515-Run Goal

Bangladesh chose to bowl first in the match after winning the toss. On the first day, India were reduced to 144/6, with only Yashasvi Jaiswal’s fifty-score showing some fight. Subsequently, it was the turn of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, who combined to score 199 runs for the seventh wicket. Jadeja was dismissed at 86, but Ashwin proceeded to smash 113, his sixth century in the Test match. In the first innings, India was dismissed for 376 runs.

Bangladesh was bowled out for 149 in the second innings, giving the Indian bowlers a breath of fresh air. With four wickets, Jasprit Bumrah has taken the lead, followed by Akash Deep, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Siraj, who each claimed two wickets.

Day 3: India declared at 287/4 after twin century from Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant. As a result, they seized a 514-run advantage; Bangladesh now has to score 515 to triumph.
