First of all, we will tell you why this temple was named Lepakshi? It is said in mythology that a demon brought a cow here by pulling it by its tail, due to which the temple is named Lepakshi. If we talk about the history of the temple, then it is considered to be about 16 centuries old. When Krishnadev Rai was ruling here. Then this temple was built which is present on a pillar swaying in the air. According to religious beliefs, in Treta Yuga, Jatayu fell here while saving Mother Sita, then Lord Rama called him Le Pakshi to get up. This is also considered to be a big reason for the name of the temple.
There is a mandap in the main center of this temple which looks very attractive due to its craftsmanship. Apart from this, beautiful carvings have been done on the walls of the temple.
