There is good news for those who want to get a passport. If you come from Ghaziabad, Noida, Aligarh, Baghpat, and other nearby districts and want to get a passport, then you will not need to come to the passport office and stand in long queues for document and biometric verification. Ghaziabad Regional Passport Office will provide you with these services at home. To simplify the document verification of passport applicants, a mobile van equipped with biometric machines and a three-member staff has been flagged off in Ghaziabad. This van will visit the 13 districts under Ghaziabad Passport Seva Kendra and will check the documents of passport applicants and do other necessary work by going to their homes.

Ghaziabad Regional Passport Officer Anuj Swaroop said that more than 1,400 applicants come to the passport service center every day, while 50 to 100 applications are received daily in 13 districts. He said, "Given the pending cases, we have started the passport mobile van service, which will go to these districts and complete the document verification of the applicants at the local level." This van will act as a mobile passport service center, which will have facilities like a printer, computer, scanner, and loudspeaker. It aims to reduce the crowd at the main passport service center and Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSK).

Document and biometrics verification is necessary.
The process of obtaining a passport requires document and biometric verification, which also includes police verification. Usually, it takes 10 to 25 days to get a passport, but it may get delayed due to pending cases. Of the 13 districts under Ghaziabad, Meerut, Agra, Aligarh, Noida, and Hathras receive 80 to 100 applicants per day, while this number is around 50 in Bulandshahr, Hapur, Baghpat, Mathura, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur and Ghaziabad.

Passport Seva Kendras already exist in Sahibabad, while POPSK centers have been set up in 13 districts. Meerut receives an average of 80 applicants per day, which sometimes exceeds 100, leading to an increase in pending cases. Keeping this situation in mind, passport mobile vans have been introduced to provide 'service at home'.
