Young sensation Beardman, in Mitchell Starc’s opinion, is “ready” to play for Australia

Mahli Beardman, a young tearaway, has the support of Australia’s top pacer Mitchell Starc, who feels the 19-year-old is “ready to go” if the Baggy Greens require his services in the remaining three one-day internationals against England.

Ben Dwarshuis, a left-arm bowler, is out of the ODI series due to a pectoral issue. Beardman is now Australia’s fourth specialized fast in the lineup as a consequence of the team’s current UK trip.

Beardman is not formally included in Australia’s 16-player ODI series roster. He’s the touring party’s standby player right now.

In the second ODI, the 19-year-old pacer took the field during the inning break. Starc is certain that Beardman is “ready” to compete on the international circuit and believes he is already acquainted with the team.

He has really spent some time with the group; on our trips to Perth for Test matches, he has served beverages. The left-arm bowler told cricket.com.au, “Obviously, he’s well known to the (WA) guys, but to some of us older guys who have been to Perth a few times, he’s been around the last couple of years.”

“He has a lot of enthusiasm; we’ve seen him bowl a little bit, and he’s out there today as well. He’s had a terrific under-19 campaign; his group of 19s includes some really gifted bowlers. He’s undoubtedly prepared to go if given the chance. Being another WACA young lad among this gang, he’s champing at it a little,” he said.

Sean Abbott was used by Australia in the first ODI but was removed for the second after he scored fifty runs in five overs.

In the series’ opening two games, young all-rounder Aaron Hardie was utilized as the third pacer. In the second ODI, he impressed with figures of 2/26 at Headingley, demonstrating his talent.

Australia will attempt to complete the series in the third One-Day International (ODI) on Tuesday at Riverside Ground, Durham, after racing to a 2-0 lead.
