Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has said that he is unaware of the seriousness of the injury that his midfield player Rodri suffered on Sunday against Arsenal.

During a Man City corner, Rodri collided with Thomas Partey, an Arsenal player, and seemed to suffer a knee injury. It was necessary to replace him, and Arsenal equalized a minute later.

“At this point, I’m unsure. The physicians were not consulted. He is powerful. When asked how long Rodri may be sidelined, Guardiola said, “He leaves the pitch and his action is that he felt something else he would stay there.”

Rodri is “the best holding midfielder in the world,” according to Guardiola, and Man City would definitely miss him if he were forced to miss games.

After bouncing back from a hamstring injury, Rodri made his second appearance of the season and his first start on Sunday.

Without Rodri, City has lost 24% of its games since he made his debut in 2019. When he is included, that percentage drops to 11%.

He has now gone 52 games in a row without losing in the Premier League. Premier League statistics show that the last time he played, City fell to Spurs in the league by a score of 1-0 in February 2023.

Rodri was sidelined for all three of Man City’s Premier League losses during the previous campaign.
