To lose weight, nutritionists will definitely include Idli in your diet. Similarly, things like Ragi Dosa and Uttapam are also considered good for weight management.

Material:

for the dosa:

  • 1 cup rice (basmati or regular)
  • 1/4 cup urad dal
  • 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (according to taste)
  • Water (for soaking and grinding)

Easy Dosa Recipe

Method of Preparation:

  1. Soaking:

    • Wash and soak rice and urad dal separately for 4-5 hours. If you are using fenugreek, soak it along with rice and dal.
  2. grind:

    • Put the soaked rice and lentils in a mixer. Prepare a thick batter by adding water as required.
  3. Yeast Raising:

    • Pour the mixture into a container, cover it and leave it overnight or for 8-10 hours for the yeast to rise.
  4. Tempering:

    • Next morning, add salt to the solution and mix it well.
  5. Bake the Dosa:

    • Heat a pan and apply some oil on it.
    • Now pour a ladle full of the mixture and spread it in a circular shape.
    • Apply some oil on the edges of the dosa and fry it until it becomes golden and crispy.
  6. Serve:

    • Flip the dosa and cook it on the other side as well. Serve it with hot chutney or sambhar.

Tips:

  • If the dosa batter is too thick, add some water to it to make it lighter.
  • You can also add potato filling to the dosa, which is called Aloo Masala Dosa.
