Cricket betting rackets were organized by police raids; one held

In collaboration with Sultan Bazar police, the Central Zone Team of the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force dismantled organized cricket betting networks and detained a collection agent at the Wall Street Apartment on MJ Market Road. From his possession, police confiscated a counting machine, a bike, a mobile phone, and Rs 8 lakh.

Vikas Jain (41), the individual who was detained, works as a betting money-collecting agent for Majestic Pride in Goa. Police claim that Vikas received commission unlawfully while working for the primary organizers as a betting amount collecting agent. They are coordinating via the http://luckystar123.in online betting app. Users’ IDs and passwords for online betting on cricket matches were being sent to bettors using this app. Vikas, the respondent, was designated by the primary organizers as their collecting agent in Hyderabad via WhatsApp, and they conducted business from Goa. According to the police, Vikas was employed by major organizers Vikram, Sagar, and others who run internet bookmakers for casino games and ongoing cricket events under the Majestic Pride, Goa brand.

According to the YVS Sudheendra DCP Task Force, Vikas Jain was gathering wagering amounts from consumers and participants in Hyderabad and sending them to the other participants who had won or lost, following the organizers’ orders. According to DCP, “Vikas Jain has contacts with about 20 to 35 punters who are following live cricket matches across different states. The punters are sending money via cash or online services like Google Pay and PhonePe.”
