79th United Nations General Assembly: On Tuesday, US President Joe Biden met with Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor to the interim government of Bangladesh, during the 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York. As per a news release issued by the Chief Adviser’s Office, Biden extended an offer to the Bangladeshi interim government of the US for complete assistance.

President Biden sent Yunus congratulations on being named leader of the transitional administration. Additionally, Biden praised the two countries’ increased cooperation and pledged US assistance for Bangladesh.

According to a White House statement, the two leaders reaffirmed the “close partnership” between Bangladesh and the United States, which is based on strong people-to-people connections and shared democratic ideals.

Yunus met Premier Justin Trudeau of Canada

On Tuesday, outside of the UN General Assembly session, Muhammad Yunus also had a meeting with Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada.

According to the announcement, the two leaders spoke about strengthening ties between Bangladesh and Canada, expanding freedom, establishing institutions, and helping Bangladeshi youth during their short encounter.

Trudeau acknowledged Professor Yunus’s assumption of responsibility and said that Canada is prepared to assist Bangladesh in establishing new institutions.
